A nation's culture and identity is inextricably tied to the people.
Pre-Canada was very different when it was populated only by warring first nations tribes.
Canada would be very different if it was colonised by the Spanish or Portuguese.
Canada is only what we are today because it was settled by the Anglo-French. A unique mix not found anywhere else in the world.
But Canada is rapidly transforming as we allow ourselves to be neo-colonised by Chinese, Indians, Muslims.
I long for the Canada I was born into. That is the Canada I want to pass on to my children and grandchildren.
But for that to become reality, we must first accept that people are more than just interchangeable economic uniques. That immigration is not just an economic policy but a cultural one.
We must not only mitigate the damage of mass immigration, we just reverse it.
