I need to make a thread for all the major story inconsistencies in the English rewrite of FFXIV, but as a quick example of how they don't actually care about "getting across the same message" and also just genuinely hate fun, here's something from last stream. This is in the Dawntrail role quests. Your antagonist in the magic dps one is a guy who calls himself　ジャスティス・R （JUSTICE R), and is doing a whole super sentai bit. The R stands for Radz-at-han, which he is trying to be the hero of. Total idiot. The name is hilariously lame, he is not actually particularly strong, but the kids think hes super cool. It's genuinely very funny.
