Stock market expert still recovering from a drawdown.

$FST what is going on here? Can they force FEI to go through with this merger? yet another wild string of events out of #SPAC world
Anyone researched the warrant early redemption rights for #SPAC issuers when at or above $10? not referring to typical $18 redemption right. Seems a common feature in many current #SPAC warrant offerings, but wondering if there are examples of this happening @Post_Market

looking at the stocks that the media has associated with #Archegos and taking the latest 13f from the 4 major banks associated we come up with a very rough picture of the portfolio and what it might have looked like from 3/22 to 3/25.

Not that anyone wants to hear anymore about #Archegos , but a fair amount of misleading headlines floating around so want to share my best guess at all this... which isnt a $100mm loss. at this point we can only guess via13f and block trade headlines, so heres my take FWIW @FT

disclaimer, this assumes they owned all the shares reported by each bank. in reality there were likely more positions in the book and their holdings were different. but looking at the headlines its clear in some cases they owned more than what was shown above

For example GS was shopping blocks of 50mm of TME shares and 32mm shares of VIPS on 3/26. So its feasible they had $50-60BN on entering the week of 3/22. If so, with hedges $100BN of gross makes sense and a 1 week loss of $10-20bn
dont have the $GSX borrow rate, but given the high SI, one thing people are missing is that not only were GS and MS making money on long financing of that swap.. they were likely making up to half a BN a year on lending the shares. would have been able to internalize a lot
Just looking at MSCS $MS and Nomuras $nomura swap entities 13f holdings.. this recent news shows just the massive levels of concentration with this one client. obv 13f doesn't show the whole book or short positions but it does show their largest positions. pretty amazing TBH

dont know who needs to hear this, but instead of having everything at #Robinhood spread across 3 RBs. Just talk to any instit HF investor and they'd tell you importance of CP risk. could help prevent a #robinhood situation happening again #GME #AMC @jimcramer @chamath

someone in the #wallstreetbets #WSB @wsbmod should create the WSB Retail favorites basket and track and post daily. The big banks do similar things for all their HF clients, why not empower the people!

Replying to @vladtenev
@vladtenev If you met your regulatory req and raised $, for "future use or meeting regulatory req", why did you restrict buys? they contradict. If you knew you could raise $ and meet regulatory req for another 5 sigma event, then you wouldn't need to stop buys #RobinHood #WSB

Ok so coming into that thurs #RobinHood had a $3bn call at DTCC. sounds like they worked to get relief to meet call and had to restrict trading that day to ensure they could continue to meet. but Vlad continues to say they didnt have liquidity problems?? $GME #GME

washingtonpost.com/context/t… Bottom of page 9 and page 10 contain the facts in the written testimony. They got relief from NSCC clearly because they told them they would restrict trading. That bought them time to raise capital for the coming days. $GME $AMC @stoolpresidente

$TSLA traded an unbelievable $62b worth of shares today, that's more than the 10 next most active stocks combined and double $SPY. Outside of "Inclusion Day" (which was arguably shouldn't count) I think this is all-time record for a stock.

Retail favorites up 85% YTD; hedge funds up 5%. Gotta hand it to the Fed: it is taking from billionaires and giving to 13 year olds

Our projections for deaths due to COVID-19 in the US have leveled off over the last couple days after steadily rising over the week prior. We are now expecting to see just under 150K deaths by the end of August. Full projections: projectionengine.com/covid-1… #Coronavirus #COVID19

Why are so many models correcting their projections upward lately? They fell victim to the Myth of the Symmetrical Curve. We have been expecting a long tail - a considerably flatter and longer downward slope vs upward slope. projectionengine.com/covid-1… #coronavirus #COVID
