When you have attendance at the @MOEducation State Board meeting like this and a huge number are superintendents, you know we’re in a serious time when everyone who supports public schools MUST be paying attention. @MASALeaders @moassp @MSTA @MissouriNEA

I just watched our commissioner of education resign in a room full of state superintendents.
“The Board’s agenda is better served by a different commissioner.”
When asked what is the biggest issue facing education, she immediately responded with “support”.

As good as Mahomes has been in his career, has he ever had a fully healthy wide receiver core? This game has been so unfortunate.

Before calling a Missouri school an A, B, C, D or F, look beyond the letter. Poverty, student growth, recovery and local context matter. Good public conversations need more than one grade. MissouriSchools.org/achievem… @MASALeaders @MSTA

Dear Oran Community
The 26-27 school year will be vital for public education in the state of MO. The link contains a great article reflecting on rural schools just like ours.

Eight years ago today, @thomascmurray was in Missouri challenging education leaders from across the state to chase learning rather than technology. Looking forward to being challenged by him again tomorrow at #GOInnovate26! @GOCSDMO

I told my teenage son that when I was his age, I used to get 10 CDs in the mail for a penny.
I don't know if he thought I was lying about what a CD was, what a penny was, what the mail was, or all of the above.

The @IRSnews sends me a letter saying they need a document for my amended return. It tells me to fax or mail the document. The letter contains no fax number and no mailing address. And when you call to ask, you get hung up on because they’re too busy to take a call. 🤦♂️

No matter one’s role in education, there are challenges and stresses that pop up throughout a school year. Notes like this one I received yesterday attached to a graduation announcement for a former student at a previous school are often timely.
I needed this yesterday.

I’m extremely honored to be trusted with this opportunity. Newburg is a tremendous school with incredible staff, students, families, and Board. My two years here have been wonderful, and I’m thrilled to continue serving alongside our great team.

The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas. The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.
