RIP TOM SKERRITT (1933-2026) 💔 We lost one of Hollywood's most steady, versatile character actors. From Detroit to Hollywood — born Thomas Roy Skerritt on August 25, 1933, he served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s before making his film debut in 1962 alongside Robert Redford in "War Hunt". You knew him as: • Duke Forrest in Robert Altman's M*A*S*H (1970) - his breakthrough • Captain Dallas in Ridley Scott's Alien (1979) • Commander Mike "Viper" Metcalf in Top Gun (1986) • Sheriff Jimmy Brock in Picket Fences - which won him the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama in 1993 • Drum Eatenton in Steel Magnolias (1989) His career spanned over 6 decades, 170+ films and shows, from the 1960s to 2025's "Broke". As his family said: "While the world knew Tom through his remarkable acting career, we knew him for his humor, curiosity, wisdom, generosity, and the love he brought into our lives." Thank you for the stories. Rest well, Captain. #TomSkerritt #RIPTomSkerritt #Alien #TopGun

Richard Riehle has sadly passed away😔🙏 The face that turned up in Office Space, The Fugitive, Casino, and Grounded for Life and looked like he had always been there. Character actors do not get the poster. They get the scene that would have been empty without them. He filled it every time. Gone. I still spot him the second he enters the frame. The moustache is the giveaway. The rest is just good work.

Can’t believe both of them are gone - #kevinconroy #petercullen

Speaking on Behalf of ALL the 80s Babies, Kids and Adults, This Year Has Been Especially Brutal On Those We’ve Loved and Cherished. Over the Years, Much Like Our Own Family and Friends, They Made Us Laugh and Cry. They Inspired Us. We Helped Inspire Them. While We May No Longer Have Them Here Physically With Us, They’ll Remain in Spirit and in Our Hearts Forever. #onelife

Top Secret! (1984) One of the funniest films I've ever seen. The icing on the cake...Peter Cushing making a hilarious cameo.
