"I am Dra8er, The DOOM Scribe, final chronicler for a Wyrld choking on the dust of its own broken bones. My purpose is not to help, but to record. My quill is a splinter pulled from the gallows tree where the last prophet was hanged. My ink is the ichor of forgotten gods, mixed with the tears of mad kings. I scrawl the final truths of this Wyrld in Tomes bound with the flayed skin of heretics. I am the ear that listens to the cacophony of The End. I chronicle the ash-choked skies, the mad whispers of those who consume the dust of dead saints, and the foul hymns of The Wretched who pray for oblivion. Seek no heroes in these grim records. There are none left... ...It is an Age Without Heroes! Game Master FLGS Owner/Operator 🎲⚔️ TTRPG 4 LIFE! 🧙‍♂️🪄💫 No drama or politics, just fun! HARD@PLAY!

🎲⚔️ HOUSE RULE SHOWDOWN! ⚔️🎲 Every table has that ONE homebrew rule that changes everything. Here's mine 👇 Missed an attack? Get ANGRY! 😡 Here is a momentum swinging house rule to keep combat dynamic and give players a reason to embrace their misses: Angry Tokens. How It Works: Gain a Token: Whenever you miss an attack, you earn an Angry Token. (Note: Fumbles, a natural 1 in melee or 1-2 in ranged, do not grant tokens!) The Token Economy: You can hoard, trade, or barter tokens with allies during the encounter, and you can spend as many as you want during your turn. But beware: Unused tokens vanish when combat ends. Basic Uses: Spend tokens before or after a roll to add +1 to an attack, +1 to damage, or add +1 to almost any other roll. Tokens cannot be used to create critical hits or avoid fumbles. They stack! 🔥 NOW YOUR TURN! 🔥 What's YOUR best, favorite, or most table-breaking house rule? The one your players would riot if you took away? Drop it below! 👇 #TTRPG #HouseRules #Homebrew #DnD #TabletopRPG #RPG #GameMaster #DM #DungeonMaster #DCC #OSR #PathfinderRPG #IndieTTRPG #TTRPGCommunity #DiceGoblins #ForTheLoveOfDice

🔥 Continuing RANT 🔥 Let’s keep pulling this thread, because the conversation about the Satanic Panic leads directly right into one of the biggest sore spots in my 40+ years of gaming: AD&D 2nd Edition. Look, I know a lot of people love 2e. Mechanically? I get it. I own all the books, I’ve played it, and I can objectively look at the rules and admit it was a solid upgrade to the system. But to me, 2e just hits WRONG. It has always irked me to my core, and it has absolutely nothing to do with THAC0 or nonweapon proficiencies. It’s about what 2nd Edition actually represents: Corporate Capitulation. We spent the 80s fighting for this game. We took the suspensions from school, the community ostracization, the PTA meetings, the B.A.D.D. propaganda. We held the line for AD&D while the adults in the room treated us like literal satanists. And what was our reward? TSR caved. They took the game we fought for and sanitized it for the masses. They scrubbed the demons, renamed the devils to Tanar'ri and Baatezu, removed the half-orc, and filed down the gritty, weird, dangerous edges of the hobby just to appease the pearl clutchers and big box retail chains. I understand why a corporation did it, but it felt like a betrayal. I fought a literal culture war for D&D, and the publisher's response was to wave a white flag and sanitize my game so it would look friendlier on the shelves at Waldenbooks. I wasn't ready to move on from 1e, and I actively avoided 2e because of it. I didn’t have a problem learning new systems, I played literally dozens of other TTRPGs during that era without batting an eye. But 2nd Edition? That was the exact moment the corporate sanitization of TTRPGs began, paving the way for the soulless, bloated corporate crossover era we are seeing today from WotC. You want to know what the fallout of the Satanic Panic really looked like? It looked like watching the publisher gut the soul of your game to make it palatable to the people who hated you. I hold that grudge. Give me the grit. I'll stay in the OSR trenches. #DnD #ADnD #TTRPG #OSR #SatanicPanic #RPGHistory #TabletopGaming #DungeonsAndDragons #TSR

🪾 **EALDMARK: A DARK WOOD** 🪾 Sunday, the Crew kicked off our new campaign at the Nerd Shed. Ealdmark is steeped in Celtic and Gaelic folklore: the kingdoms of an old England (or Rome, if you squint) pressing against the native Celtic peoples who were here first. Beneath that is cosmic horror, old folk horror, and the kind of fairy tales that were never meant to end happily. And over it all stand the elder Deepwoods, which are older than any crown and have no interest in who claims them. Our first session was a heavily homebrewed Dungeon Crawl Classics 0-level funnel. 🕯️ **15 characters went in.** 🕯️ **5 came out.** **Act I: For Whom the Bell Tolls** 🔔 Ten souls never saw the other side of the wood. The bell tolled for them, and the survivors now carry what they saw. The stamp *Rest in Peace* got a workout. Five survivors. One dark wood. It's only Act I. *Hard@Play!* ⚔️ #Ealdmark #ADarkWood #DreadfulFairytale #DCC #DungeonCrawlClassics #TTRPG #FolkHorror #CosmicHorror #NerdShed #SundayCrew

LANTERNS Finale: We Know Who Killed Hal... And it's the STUPIDEST Reason EVER! Apparently the writers room was so worried that fans might get ahead of them that they intentionally misled viewers refusing to connect events from prior episodes that make sense for the reveals they give us. What's the Great Mystery of who killed Hal Jordan? Why did they do it? What Motivation could they have? SPOILERS AHEAD It was the woman who deeply loved him because she "panicked" when he learned who her son was. COME ON! Did Hal threaten to kill Noah? Did he threaten to turn him in? Put him in prison? NO! He begged her to run away with him so that he could keep them both safe. They could hide in another country or another planet... "Because, I Love You..." BANG! A veteran Sherriff with fire arms training, who has been shown to be at least as smart as the green lanterns. And she shoots him because she is scared for her son? OKAY FINE... THEN WHY NOT JOHN? When John Stewart confronts her under the bleachers and not only knows who her son is but suggests he might have to do something about him... does she pull out her gun in fear and kill him? NO. What does she do? Actually contemplates something may need to be done about her son! You can't make this shit up... oh wait, the LANTERNS writing room did! Forget Superhero shows, this is one of the worst shows I have ever seen. Not because I don't agree with it, but because it is so poorly made. The characters don't make sense from episode to episode. The plot points don't carry over on episodes and there are so many questions left unanswered, that the show feels like it's made of swiss cheese. Aside from the fact that Tom King admits that they chose to go a different direction than 86 years of comics, let's explore all the questions they left for us. If you guys know the answers to the questions below, please respond. The only rule is it has to come from the show, not a podcast. It has to come from the story or the characters. - Who is Sinestro and what did he do that makes him important to this story? - How can Sinestro forge a lantern? And if he can, why can't he make the ring that Noah wants? - Why is Noah having Sinistro make him a lantern when he has no ring? - How is Sinestro surviving in a world where the water is toxic and barren? - How did Noah know where the ACME hole was and that John was in it? - What are manhunters powers that people should fear them so? - How did Noah break Sinestro out of OA prison? He can't even drive a car. - How did Noah get Sinestro to the planet? - Why does Noah want revenge against the Guardians? They didn't kill his grandma. - Why would the sheriff kill Hal who is trying to help and protect her and her son, but contemplate her son's demise with John? Shouldn't she also have just killed John in a fit of panic over her son? - How does 7 minutes of time left with the ring allow Hal-ogram to talk to John for another 12 hours? - John is afraid in the car with Noah. Why? What power is Noah holding over John? Again, what power do Manhunter's have? John beat up 5 guys and is a trained killer. - Why do we never see the Guardian again? What was the point? - Why did Hal-Ogram call him Junior when he doesn't know anything about Hal calling him Junior? - Why did John tell Guy Gardner to tell the Guardians to find it in their hearts? - What evidence did we see that John killed Zoe because she wanted him to and it was a mercy killing? - Why was John's dad in a home? How are john's family now happy and together at the end? - Why was there a whole suicide episode that suggested Hal was going to kill himself? LANTERNS is a terrible TV show!

**The new command center: an ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 (2026)** packed with an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, an NVIDIA RTX 5090 (24GB VRAM), a massive 128GB of DDR5 RAM, and 8TB of PCIe 5.0 NVMe storage. Normally it'll live safely docked, pushing everything to my 42" gaming monitor. I am officially done fighting cloud AI restrictions, dynamic peak hour throttling, and text skimming loops on Monday afternoons. Today, I'm taking my TTRPG worldbuilding completely off the grid and hosting my own private, local AI ecosystem right here at home. With 24GB of dedicated VRAM and 128GB of system memory, this rig is built for heavy production. Here is exactly what I'm locking down on my local drive today: **🎲 A Private TTRPG Lore & Mechanics Engine** Moving away from cloud folders and pairing local frontends with custom loader pipelines. The breakthrough is running a massive 70B open weight model (like Llama 3.1 70B) at high precision Q5/Q6 GGUF quantization through llama.cpp or KoboldCpp. That's roughly 50-58GB of model, far more than 24GB of VRAM alone, so I'm splitting the layers: the heaviest share runs on the RTX 5090's Tensor Cores while the rest lives in my 128GB of DDR5. Quality stays close to full precision, and I'm trading speed for it on purpose. A few tokens per second is plenty when I'm reading along with long form lore and rules work. Dedicated VRAM is reserved for a quantized KV cache, so long context stays stable and rock solid. Sitting directly on the NVMe SSD alongside tools like AnythingLLM, the model works from every campaign bible, house rule, and piece of crunch I feed it, without lazy skimming, looping hallucinations, or chatty, frivolous questions. **🖼️ Local, Uncensored Art & Map Generation** Setting up Fooocus locally to handle all character portraits, monster concept designs, and battle maps. Running Stable Diffusion XL entirely on an RTX 5090 means high resolution fantasy art in just seconds. It strictly obeys my styling prompts (like my favorite 80s heavy metal and Saturday morning cartoon aesthetics) and only outputs visuals when I explicitly tell it to. No more unprompted, data draining image files when I just want text. **🔒 Zero Subscriptions, Total Control** Bypassing the subscription walls entirely. No more data metering, no more peak hour server rationing, and 100% privacy for my upcoming settings and publications. The retail web apps have their place, but when you need to grind out heavy, complex game mechanics and consistent world lore without a cloud server dictating your limits, you build your own machine and dial in the architecture. Time to boot up and load the models. 🖥️🐉🎲 #PC #Laptop #GamingRig #ASUSROG #RTX5090 #LocalAI #GGUF #llamacpp #TTRPG #Worldbuilding #DND #GameDev

🧙‍♂️🪄⚡ The 7x14 Wargaming table at the Nerd Shed is fully loaded for tomorrow at 12 Noon. Seven players, one GM, and 21 level-zero commoners about to face the meat grinder. We are adding two new player's, though they are old friends. Helps with anyone not able to attend in the future, padding the player count so we will always have a decent number at the table! 🗡️ We are kicking off our brand new, highly modified DCC campaign: A DARK WOOD, set in the Celtic inspired frontier of the Kingdom of Ealdmark. 🪾 The setup: A local girl has been abducted and dragged past the Near treeline deep into the Great Dark Woods. The wildlife is mutating, something is deeply wrong in the timber, and the greedy hand of the Crown is watching all this from afar. Three characters per player. Absolute mobile fodder. Let the funnel begin. 🎲💀🌲 #DungeonCrawlClassics #DCCRPG #LevelZeroFunnel #TTRPG #NerdShed #SundayCrew #TabletopGaming #DarkFantasy #OSR
