The book describes how he uses the spell repeatedly while performing movements with the wand, causing the wounds to close and the blood to stop flowing. This precision demonstrates a very advanced knowledge of curses and the magic necessary to counteract them. In addition, the scene reveals something important about his talent: Snape was not just good at casting offensive spells. He was capable of creating magic, modifying it, and then developing a specific solution to neutralize it, which requires a very high level of knowledge beyond simply memorizing spells from the books. His mastery of Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Spells fits with this same ability. That is why Vulnera Sanentur is one of the few scenes that allow us to understand why Snape was considered such an exceptional wizard. Obito had Hashirama Cells, a modified body, Kamui, and an artificial white zetsu "enhancement" Danzo had Hashirama Cells too—but he was never an Uchiha he didn't have Kamui, and couldn't naturally wield the Sharingan the way Obito could. Yet Danzo still figured out how to combine them with Izanagi, turning his arm into a stockpile of temporary reality-rewrites. That's not Hashirama Cells carrying him—that's Danzo understanding how to weaponize what he had. And his Wind Release wasn't cosmetic either. He could infuse weapons with chakra to enhance their cutting power, use Wind Release offensively, summon Baku, use sealing techniques, and fight Sasuke while managing an entire arm of Sharingan. Obito had a better setup. Danzo had better resourcefulness. Calling Danzo a bum because Obito got more out of Hashirama Cells is like comparing two players because they used the same equipment. The difference was never just the cells. It was what they knew how to do with them.
