Campbell also takes issue with modern horror’s “gray-green” lighting. “I think even a horror movie can look pretty. Why not throw them off? Make it all look pretty and wonderful, and then let them have it.” Read more: [dreadcentral.com/news/585040…]

The idea of a pure horror non funny evil dead movie rubs me the wrong way honestly

They should revive the TV show to be the funny one. Transition it away from Ash Williams. Let Pablo and Kelly see if they can carry.

So much Army of Darkness hate.... Stop taking yourselves so seriously. Fucking laugh at something.

The Chin for the win! Evil Dead needs a (wicked) sense of humor. Doesn't need to be Army of Darkness wacky...but the grim torture porn stuff can wear thin.

Tell Sam to call me, Bruce! Will HAPPILY make the Evil Dead film after Wrath VERY silly.

I really enjoy the humorless evil dead movies, I get more into them, without laughing, humor throws the suspense off.

People here keep thinking we need Bruce to do slap stick when there’s a whole entire industry of talented actors that could potentially carve their own niche without having to be Bruce.

All due respect but I completely disagree

Yet, the last three are exponentially better than the franchise-killing Army of Dorkness. Nah, be more like the first film and less like the slapstick mess.

I think there’s room for both. Comedy horrors are one of my favorite sub genres. Stuff like Slither, Eight Legged Freaks, Gremlins, Army of Darkness and more. I miss it.

Maybe Bruce needs to rewatch all the recent films, cause they definitely aren't humorless......

No one can do it like Brucey-baby & frankly, I'm good with people not trying to emulate it (not to mention studios nowadays wouldnt let the leads be as physical given the changes in the environment over the last 40 years)

No thanks, the franchise is doing great.

Pearl was pretty offbeat and colorful if I recall

Idk. I did like the movies when he was in them and his comedy but I also love bleak movies.

I agree on all accounts
