ALT USDM Hot Topic September 17, 2026: Maine. All of Maine is in drought this week, up from 77.37% last week. Severe drought or worse increased from 16.02% to 19.29%. Extreme drought was introduced this week, covering 4.92% of the state. The Drought Severity and Coverage Index increased from 193 to 224 of 500.
