I really wanted Uvwo at Duke. But apparently he’s down to 4 schools, with Duke not being one of them. So maybe the bigger question is: why did Duke pivot? Just look at Maxime Meyer. 7’1. Tough. Skilled. Feel. MASSIVE upside. His emergence has turned the vibe. Add Scharnowski + JBB next year as the core… Coach Scheyer and staff might really like what it has and a frontcourt I’d be pretty damn excited about! 😈

I’ve been thinking about what Coach Lawson is building at Duke, and I really think we need to give this thing some perspective. Geno needed 10 seasons for his 1st natty. Dawn needed 9. Kara is entering year 7, and you can feel something has changed in Durham since she arrived. The best high school recruits are noticing and coming. Top transfers are choosing Duke. The pieces are coming together. Can she be the one who finally gets Duke women’s ball that elusive 1st natty? I really think she can.

It’s only a scrimmage so not too much to take from it. - This team has great energy on the defensive end. - fantastic positional size everywhere in the court, should be another year of elite defense from Duke. - Asa Montgomery looks very entertained, 👀🧐 - John Blackwell is a professional scorer, should lewd this team in scoring - D. Rippey jr. gives this Tems another gear, his on ball defense and ability to push the pace will be fun to watch. - CFos looks ready to lead this team to a title. - Big Pat is 100% healthy and looks really good. Moving better, still an elite passer. - Maxime Meyer can definitely step in a give some positive mins. - B. Howard can REALLY shoot the ball. - S. Wilkins might grind out some mins for this team, his versatility could prove to come in handy. - C. Williams might be an elite help side defender with offensive chops to s ore from all over. - JBB if allowed could be NPOY, he’s that good. Seems to be moving better and more fluid since getting to Duke. He will be an absolute nightmare to try to guard. Inside/outside savant - C. Boozer is still poised as heck, jumpshot looks better and he still controls pace. - D. Sarr looks considerably stronger, attacking the basket is a part of his arsenal now.
