I don't think this move by
Pump.fun is the right decision.
The reason is that, as if there weren't already enough farmers in the ecosystem, people now have what is essentially an opportunity to completely drain the liquidity.
Why?
Previously, people had a certain level of trust in tokens that migrated. The reason was that if a developer migrated their project and then failed to move it forward, they would suffer a loss. This created an incentive for developers to continue building and growing their projects because, if they didn't want to lose money, they had to keep working on them. In a way, this made the space somewhat safer.
Now, however, anyone can migrate whenever they want, and the potential loss is significantly lower. At this point, people are becoming increasingly confused about what they should even buy.
I've been a supporter of the
@solana ecosystem for a long time, and I'm absolutely not trying to criticize or speak negatively about Solana. However, I believe this could harm the ecosystem in the medium term.
Completely draining liquidity will likely lead to even more scams and rug pulls.
One of the key features that differentiated
Pump.fun from Raydium has now essentially been removed.
@a1lon9 changing this situation would be beneficial for the ecosystem.
Introducing BOOST mode - the new standard launch mechanism for EVERY new pump fun coin
Over $100M in dead liquidity is lost every year when tokens migrate. Now, we’re reinjecting future liquidity into EVERY BONDED COIN.
