Bowing to the universe and building apps that conspire with it. See what's on The Planet šŸ‘‡

Hi šŸ‘‹ I make useful things and keep tinkering. Mint, Alder, Reso, and Scene each started with a different ā€œwhat if?ā€ Now they all hang out on The Planet. Come look around. Say hi. dzgapp.com/planet

Sharing my work still feels awkward. But seeing new visits and downloads on this little globe makes me think: someone all the way over there found something I made 🄹 What’s a small interaction with a user that’s stayed with you?

It got me wondering: What if each thought wasn't just saved, but felt? Imagine a living journal where your notes naturally gather into themes, showing exactly how your mind is doing today. Built a live notebook (Reso) for this. Checking my own patterns below, my "design" thoughts are finally settling, while my interest in "infra" is warming up and trending up again. (Goodbye romantic week, back into the weeds... 🫣)

Hope everyone’s enjoying the long weekend. I have way too many files and not nearly enough patience to organize them one by one... So naturally, I built a button for it. šŸ˜‰

And yes, included a 'Regret' button too. For those instant 'wait, put it back' moments.

For years the only place I could see my time going somewhere was the GitHub contribution graph. This is the other half. Every thought I said out loud since April, growing into a map. 2,684 of them. 🌠

(also built in a way to ask it questions, so it'll actually pull the specific stars together to form an answer.)

Each dot is one dictated note. Notes about the same thing gather. The timeline replays five months from the first note to the last. The big cluster is building software. The small ones are the parts of my life I apparently talk about least.

Having it explained != having it understood. AI needs to touch grass and hang out with humans more lol.
Most people perceive AI to be a better writer than it actually is

My ~/.codex was 23 GB. 71% of it: screenshots. Mostly the SAME screenshot, re-pasted by compaction over and over. So I built a button. 465 old conversations, one click, 7.26 GB back. Text untouched. Every one still opens in Codex. 🐱

So, two buttons. Compress: screenshots become small previews, the text stays byte for byte. Delete: drag the slider to "untouched 30+ days" and let Codex remove them itself. Both permanent, both say so before they run.

Mac, Codex only for now. Claude Code stores the same file shape, so I'm looking at it. It's one feature of Mint, my Mac disk tool.

100K pageviews on dzgapp.com! šŸ†šŸ«¶ When I started solo, I was terrified of being judged. What if no one likes it? But I realized the opportunity cost of hiding is so much worse: you miss out on connecting with amazing people. Thank you to everyone who visited. You helped me realize that putting yourself out there isn't as hard as it seems. Keep building!

My Mac kept filling up, and my Downloads folder kept getting messy. So I’ve been building Mint to help with both! šŸŽØ

Turns out 22.8 GB of AI agent conversations is mostly... the same images over and over. We audited 1,231 Codex session files: • 77% of all bytes were images • 39% were exact duplicates Full census & deep dive: mint.dzgapp.com/build-journe…

The hard part isn’t finding large files—it’s deciding whether they’re actually safe to remove. These are the checks Mint uses before recommending anything: mint.dzgapp.com/how-mint-dec…

Downloads is a different kind of mess. Here’s how I think about organizing it by source, type, date, or topic—while keeping the rules reviewable: mint.dzgapp.com/guides/organ…
