Cursor has been a trusted partner of Anthropic since Sonnet 3.5. We’ll continue to increase compute to support Claude models in Cursor and are excited for what comes next with them at SpaceX.

Ask Grok: "Create a Magic: The Gathering creature card of me based on my post history." I love the spider wasps! And the nuance in the abilities is also impressive. In Magic, Ward is an ability that taxes your opponent whenever they try to target the card. Seems like this related to being hard to "cancel." The automatic Enchantment counter unless the opponent pays is pretty sweet. And the ability to exile Illusions (debunk nonsense) is on point!

The AI riptide is already underway
a surprise I think is coming the quick payback periods and extraordinarily high IRR for AI infrastructure, even at monumental scale, will push up cost of capital sufficient to push many traditional businesses into the abyss, even those without obvious direct AI counter-exposure

It’s true
MSNBC contributor reluctantly admits 𝕏 Community Notes actually works, even though it physically pains her to say so. Rolling Stone called @ElonMusk and 𝕏 "the biggest purveyors of online misinformation." Now liberals like Molly Jong-Fast are admitting that false information and missing context get kept in check "pretty well" by Community Notes. MAHER: "In this current atmosphere we live in, I never believe anything I read just from that one thing I read." JONG-FAST: "X has community notes, and I think community notes — I don't want to compliment X here, but community notes works pretty well." MAHER: "Well, then compliment them. Why can't you?" JONG-FAST: "I'm doing it! I'm doing it. Yes, I'm doing it, but I don't want to."

While West Germany had VW, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and Audi
East Germany failed to “guarantee” a car for every citizen, but it succeeded in (1) proving central planners can’t innovate and (2) replicating the breadline model to everything they touch. Because steel was never available for private citizens, the “Trabant” automobile was made out of Duroplast pressed over cotton waste and scrap. >same timeless design for 30 years >super innovative 23-horsepower two-stroke engine >no oil pump so people had to mix oil into the tank by hand at every fill up because labor itself is a worthy end And people still had to wait 10-13 years on a waitlist. 40 years by the late 1980s. So the government did in fact “guarantee” a car for every citizen. Just not that it wouldn’t be shit. Or that they’d ever get one.

Matching the payload capacity of ONE Starship V3 flight would take 200+ Falcon 1 launches That’s hundreds of rockets, hundreds of separate launches and an enormous amount of time just to move what one Starship is designed to carry Orbital AI at serious scale needs a vehicle like Starship And SpaceX now has exactly that Starship V3 is designed to carry 100+ tons to orbit per flight with full reusability That means: • Huge batches of compute satellites launched at once • Massive power and networking hardware deployed in a single mission • Starlink connectivity + laser links for moving massive amounts of high-bandwidth data across the orbital network and back to Earth • Rapid reuse for continuous scaling • Direct access to enormous amounts of solar energy in orbit • Orbital infrastructure expanding launch after launch This is where Starship changes everything Orbital AI stops being limited by how little mass we can get to space and starts becoming infrastructure humanity can build at enormous scale And it’s happening much sooner than most people realize

Wow
Met a German founder this week and asked him if all the stories one reads about the challenges of startups in Germany are exaggerated. "No, they're understated." Proceeded to describe spending a full day having a 90-page investment contract read to him (mandatory under German law; § 13 BeurkG) by a notary that then charged €30,000. That was for his first company. His second company, needless to say, was not incorporated in Germany.

Consensus estimate is that ~15GW of AI compute produced in 2027 cannot be turned on in 2027. This is harder than just finding power, as you also need to build out all the transformers, wiring, liquid-cooling, (massive) chillers & complex networking. grok.com/share/bGVnYWN5_4f06…

Keeping up with the Kardashevs
Elon Musk reveals why, measured against the sun's energy, human civilization barely registers as existing at all: "Right now we're very low on the Kardashev one scale. If you say what proportion of our planet's power are we harnessing, it's a very, very tiny number. And we're harnessing almost nothing of our star's power. The sun is truly an immense thing. It's difficult with words to characterize just how immense the sun is" "The sun is about 99.86% of all mass in the solar system. Most of the remaining 0.14% is Jupiter. The entire mass of Earth is in the tiny miscellaneous category. Earth is a tiny dust mote compared to the sun" "We currently use much less than a trillionth of the power output of the sun, and a trillion is a million times a million. So basically we're practically nowhere on the Kardashev two scale. On the Kardashev scale, we're still non-existent. We're not registering"

Falcon Heavy launches exploration misison
Falcon Heavy sent Psyche toward a metal-rich asteroid, Europa Clipper to Jupiter’s Moon, and GOES-U into transfer orbit to improve NOAA’s weather forecasting. Falcon 9 launched NASA’s PACE mission to study Earth’s ocean and atmosphere and SPHEREx to map the history of the universe. The Falcon family has enabled NASA to reach farther and explore more of the universe, and missions like Roman continue that work

Automatic token optimization to lower your Grok @Bot cost will be added soon
If you have a Grok @bot token usage issue, ask the @bot to create a new channel for dedicated tasks and close it when finished. This would allow Grok @bot to focus on the context you are currently interested in. If you want to reuse the same task, have it save the reflection and upload to the repo so it can be repeatable.
