Continuing our series highlighting #EUJTF supported projects, we recently visited #Allenwood Community Development Association's Wetlands Wastewater Treatment Plant project to see how investment in sustainable infrastructure can deliver benefits across an entire community.
The association has developed an innovative wastewater treatment system that uses naturally occurring ecosystem processes to treat wastewater while supporting local biodiversity.
Beyond its environmental benefits, the infrastructure will help facilitate future growth at the campus, including the expansion of childcare facilities and other community services. It is a strong example of how sustainable solutions can deliver lasting social, environmental and economic benefits for local communities.

As part of our ongoing series showcasing #EUJTF supported projects, @EMRAssembly was honoured to attend the final day of a practical green skills training programme delivered through a partnership between @roscommoncoco and @GRETBOfficial.
Participants completed a DIY wind turbine course, learning how to build a small-scale turbine from scratch, while a complementary programme focuses on electric vehicle repair and maintenance.
These initiatives are helping participants develop practical skills that can be applied at home, in their communities and in future careers, supporting the growing low-carbon economy and the transition to a more sustainable future.

As part of our tour of #EUJTF supported projects, we recently visited #DerrymoreSphagnumFarm to learn more about their work developing sustainable alternatives for horticulture and peatland restoration.
Shane Quinn provided an insightful tour of the farm, explaining how sphagnum moss is being cultivated for use in horticulture, environmental protection and bog restoration.
Support from the #EUJustTransitionFund has enabled the establishment of Ireland's first high-density sphagnum moss cultivation site, allowing the team to trial different growing techniques and develop new approaches to sustainable production.
Projects like this demonstrate how innovation can support both environmental goals and new economic opportunities in the EUJTF Territory.

EUJTF Project Spotlight
Over the next few days we're highlighting projects supported by the #EUJustTransitionFund that are helping communities, businesses and workers across #EUJTF territory build a more sustainable future.
Our first stop was Ethica Planet's #MARC project where we learned more about their innovative work using mycelium and recycled cardboard to create sustainable products.
The project is exploring how bio-based materials can be used as alternatives to traditional products while supporting the growth of new enterprise and employment opportunities in the region.
It was fascinating to see the range of applications for these materials and to hear how the company is creating opportunities for local young people as it continues to grow.
