The focus must now be on shaping the proposal pragmatically to ensure that the Agency can act swiftly in crisis situations, with the necessary capabilities and a clear legal framework,” says the EPP Group MEP @LenaDuepontMdEP.

Russia threatens Black Sea security. Europe must respond. This week, we voted to reinforce security in the Black Sea region. The message is clear: 🔹Protect civilian ships and ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea. 🔹Hold Russia accountable for attacks on civilian vessels and the disruption caused by its war against Ukraine. 🔹Strengthen air and maritime defences. 🔹Work more closely with NATO to protect Europe's Eastern borders. 🔹Protect vital infrastructure, including ports, energy networks and transport routes. 🔹Invest in European defence capabilities to better respond to drones and other threats. The Black Sea is not just a regional concern. Its security is essential to Europe's own security.
