The House Committee on Education and Workforce has voted to advance ten bills that would permanently move programs out of the U.S. Department of Education and into other agencies already administering them through interagency agreements. The bills would cement the

administration's existing moves, letting partner agencies directly issue grants, run competitions, and write regulations for these programs. Democrats raised concerns about whether those agencies are equipped to take on the added responsibilities. The legislation now faces an
