📍 ARUA CITY | TWO DAYS OF STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT 🇺🇬🇪🇺. I had the honor of receiving the European Union Delegation and Heads of Cooperation from Germany, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, France, and Austria for a Two Days engagement in Arua City. In the West Nile region, where communities navigate the realities of refugee-hosting, climate pressures, and the push for inclusive growth, strategic international partnerships are essential. Our discussions focused on four core pillars: 🎯 Youth Skilling & Enterprise: Connecting practical skills directly to private-sector opportunities and decent work. 🛡️ Child Protection: Strengthening systems to combat abuse, exploitation, and child labor while keeping children in school. 🌱 Green Growth & Climate Resilience: Promoting climate-smart agriculture and green skills for sustainable livelihoods. ⚖️ Gender Inclusion: Centering girls' education and women’s economic empowerment in decision-making. These are not just development priorities, they are investments in the dignity, opportunity, and resilience of our people. 🇺🇬🇪🇺 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the @EUinUG marked 50 years of partnership with a special photo exhibition in Kampala, bringing the story of the relationship to life through 12 Ugandan voices across agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, renewable energy, the creative economy and private enterprise. From a coffee farmer in Nakaseke and a midwife in Lamwo to an electric boda boda rider in Kampala, a refugee teacher in Yumbe and a young engineer involved in the Kampala Northern Bypass, the exhibition placed ordinary citizens at the centre of five decades of cooperation. #EUUganda50
