Idiotic to challenge an offsides up 3 goals but still not the dumbest thing Coach Q has ever done

Don’t forget about Edvinsson showing up for training camp, taking one look, and Nope-ing back to Sweden
Dylan Larkin got booed. A lot. Multiple “Sell the team”chants broke out. TNT called the Wings Bush League for announcing Larkin. Wings mustered 3 shots in the 3rd period. And, Detroit got shutout in their home opener after the Worst offseason of all time Oh what a night.

The Canes so far have looked like a team that spent the summer celebrating and not in the batting cage

I spent 10 months writing a meaningful book about hockey and was extremely careful not to use real teams and players when I could have just written pornography starting Connor McDavid and probably made a lot more money
@NHL launches "Hot for Hockey" campaign in response to the popularity of Heated Rivalry and other hockey romances: "The mainstream success of on-screen adaptations of hockey-themed romance novels “Heated Rivalry” and “Off Campus” over the past year has introduced an entirely new -- and largely female -- audience to the sport. After a few NHL teams leaned into the trend last season through merchandise and content plays, the league has launched a marketing effort for 2026-27 called “Hot for Hockey” that specifically targets the same demographic. "Led by new CMO Sean Eggert, who joined from Under Armour in May, the NHL is rolling out a series of short stories on audiobook platforms throughout the season that present real-life NHL storylines in the style of romance novels. The league has contracted popular hockey romance authors to write and narrate the 60-to-90-second pieces, which will direct listeners to tune in to upcoming games to see how the stories play out on the ice. It will also tap influential “BookTok” creators to spread the word." Full article 🔗: sportsbusinessjournal.com/Ar…

My take on the Cubs is that until they can develop some young pitching whose elbows don't explode, the last 2 seasons is kind of the ceiling

Jed's done a decent job of triaging this through acquisitions but it's unsustainable long term. Even this year, the trades were fine but costly. They have to start kicking a few guys up through their own system.

Willson Contreras mentioned a reliance on data when asked about Sonny Gray's quick hook: "This is baseball. The data is here to help us ... but you need experience and veteran guys, too, to win games."
