If you haven't caught onto @mytholder's Lands of the Firstborn trilogy I heartily recommend it. Fantasy that feels like fantasy did when I was a teenager, and that's the kind of fantasy I love the most.

The Mr and Mrs Smith series starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, Glover and Francesca Sloane, is one of the best series. Absolutely incredible television.

But... it would just sit in the kitchen... getting cooler... until it was warm instead of hot... or it could be served and get cooler in front of you...
It's the same amount of time, you don't have to eat it until you want to.

I found House of the Dragon s1 quite boring for the first 5 episodes. Then it got really good. S2 is off to a strong start

This cartoon. Gave me my first remembered physical effect. It freaked me out.
Looking at it now for the first time in 40 odd years, I have to ask:
Who the hell made this cartoon for kids???

My main reason for having a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 partner is that I get to use pictures of her to draw people to want to look at my feed.
TRAITOR OF REDWINTER, Book 2 of The Redwinter Chronicles, is available in all good bookshops and internets!
That is totally the reason

I give them the world map, and then there's a regional map for levels 1-15, which is revealed as they explore it, but I also let them find an old (and somewhat inaccurate) map of the region, where some things have chagned. After that, they're likely to roam the larger world.

How we left tonight's DnD game.
After a hardelection campaign attempting to put The'a's mother on the throne of Vorantaan, she was goaded into enacting Tamar Galain: a duel for the kingdom.
Thea faces off against the rival champion, an old ally: Omium, First Knight of Netherfear

It's Pride Month 🏳️🌈
The Redwinter Chronicles follows Raine as she grows from penniless wanderer to Witch Queen, and understanding who she is and who she loves lies at the core of this story.

Me: When I'm single I try to present myself as being cool and sexy, but I inevitably end up singing about my stuffed octopus and explaining rules errors in games from 1997
Cat: which is nice
Me: as long as you still think I'm cool and sexy
Cat: I never thought you were cool

'Civil War' is an amazing piece of cinema. Absolutely incredible. Probably not what most viewers expect. Fantastic performances, amazing director

"Abigail" was a great movie. Non-scary horror, and despite what I thought a weak protagonist, Dan Stevens owned his supporting role and the movie played the monster as I like to see that type of monster played. Great fun

From a "What trope do you hate" thread. Each to their own, but it got me thinking.
I find the notion of "A morally upstanding killer" to be implausible. If a character spent time training to kill, AND has a willingness to do so, they won't be a "good" person in many other ways.

"Me and Little Andy" by Dolly Parton. This is the winner, and there is no contest. I dare anyone to find something more unbearable in terms of sound that still qualifies as a song. It's the 8th wonder of the world that this was recorded.

The Punisher is up there for me with Wandavision as the best Marvel screen media. Only picked it up recently but if you're a Grimdark fan, it's going to be right up your alley

20th June 7pm, I'll be teaching a workshop for The Writers' HQ.
We'll ne diving into how to make your spec fic elements be the true theme of your story rather than just window dressing to make your novel iconic.

Be careful whose advice you buy.
Nearly every successful fiction writer I've ever met sat alone and wrote.
95% of writing a book is usually a solo task. Other professionals have roles to help make it the best it can be.
But ultimately, you sit alone, and write. That's it.

If you loved a book this year, tell your friends. Word of mouth is our best ally!
