Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, Edina Police responded to call of shots fired at Our Lady of Grace Church, 5071 Eden Ave. Witnesses reported there was a group of 16- to 18-year-olds playing basketball at Our Lady of Grace when an opposing group arrived in a vehicle and began firing handguns at the basketball players. The opposing group then immediately left. Officers arrived to the scene in under a minute; there were no injuries reported. At this time, detectives believe the basketball group was the intended target, not Our Lady of Grace. Neither groups involved in the incident appear to be affiliated with the church or school. Detectives are actively working to develop suspect descriptions. Edina Police is working collaboratively with Our Lady of Grace staff on this case and to prevent future incidents. The Edina Police Department is investigating a burglary and requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Around 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, the suspect forcibly entered a condominium complex and stole from the underground garage. Around 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, the Edina Police Department, along with other southwest metro SWAT teams, conducted multiple high-risk search warrants in Burnsville, Savage and Shakopee. The search warrants are related to a July 2 shooting near York Avenue in Edina. This is an active investigation; no further information is available.

Edina Police: On 08-04-26 at 2:46am, Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Alden Drive regarding theft from automobiles. Officers arrived and multiple suspects fled the area on foot. A perimeter was set and 3 people were taken into custody. No further updates.

Edina Police: Around 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, there was a large police presence near Brookview Avenue and 56th Street West due to a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter to find the suspect. A 19-year-old man was found and taken into custody.

Update as of 11:20 p.m.: Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, officers responded to reports of shots fired near the 5500 block of Hansen Road. No injuries were reported and no suspects are in custody. New to e-bikes or want to brush up on the rules of the road?🚲 The Edina Police Department is hosting a free e-bike safety seminar 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square. The seminar will cover Minnesota e-bike laws, helmet recommendations and how to ride safely around pedestrians and vehicles. Officers will also be available to answer questions. E-bike riders of all skill levels are welcome, but the seminar may be especially helpful for parents, grandparents, teens and new riders. No registration is required — just show up!

The Edina Police Department is looking for assistance identifying a women involved in a burglary and mail theft. The incident occurred in the 6300 block of York Avenue South around 6 a.m. Saturday, July 4. The woman left in what appeared to be a light blue Chrysler 300 with black rims.
