DR. ABEL DAMINA RESPONDS TO VDM AND APOSTLE AROME OSAYI
Dr. Abel Damina has responded to the ongoing controversy involving VDM and Apostle Arome Osayi, drawing lessons from several Bible passages, including 1 Peter 2:22–23, Matthew 5:44, Luke 9:51–55, Ephesians 4:4 and Romans 12:14.
While preaching, Dr. Damina emphasized that God does not need Christians to fight for Him with hatred, insults or vengeance. He pointed to the teachings of Jesus and the apostles about responding to persecution and disagreement without hatred.
Dr. Damina also said that Christianity can and should be questioned, particularly when the actions or teachings of Christian leaders are challenged by Scripture.
He further criticized what he described as a culture among some present-day preachers where, according to him, people become sycophants and refuse to accept correction when their teachings or actions are questioned.
Dr. Damina also referred to Apostle Arome Osayi's previous criticism of Pastor Joseph Prince, and argued that if a preacher can publicly question another minister's teachings, that preacher should also be open to being questioned or corrected when others have concerns about his own teachings.
He described the refusal to accept correction as bad and unacceptable, stressing the importance of humility, accountability and allowing Christian teachings to be examined in the light of Scripture.
