🇺🇸 Levon Aronian on the hardest skill to teach in chess: "The hardest skill to teach, I think, is a feeling of harmony. Because quite often, you look at the position and you don't know how or why, but candidate moves that you have that appear in your mind make total sense. They're filled with purpose. But it's something you cannot really teach or explain. I had numerous times when I would be analyzing with a young player and I would be telling them, 'Okay, what are the moves that you're considering here?' And all the moves that would come to their mind wouldn't be the moves that I would feel are natural. And then I would say, 'Look, you have certain issues with your general feel of harmony.' So this is something I don't know how to teach, but this is something that comes naturally, I guess, like in music."

I think this is just called intuition. It comes with deep understand from lots of experience. You cannot teach it, because it is not something you can read in a book or instruct as a teacher.

Capablanca was the master of harmony, the pieces would leave his fingers and go where they should as if by a force of destiny.
