I am very happy to announce The Kingcast, a project I’ve been cooking up with @ScottWamplerBMD for many months. We’re big @StephenKing dorks and so, it seems, are many filmmaker friends. Make sure to follow @Kingcast19 to be the first to know all the fun stuff we have in store!

Can we talk about how good @JasonKPargin is at this stuff? So good. The books’s great, btw.
Important prep work for an upcoming recording with the great @JasonKPargin. Sound on:

Hey, fellow Texans. Dan Patrick said this: “I'm not going to legalize marijuana in Texas. And if people want to vote me out of office for that, so be it." Just a friendly reminder you have a chance to take him up on that. Early voting is open now!

So, Wildwood is terrific. A lot of old folks like me wish for the dark, quasi-traumatic family film of our youths. We don’t get them very often, but Wildwood fits the bill. High fantasy, real stakes, complicated characters, incredible animation. Long live Laika.

Spielberg’s early career is fascinating ground to cover. Did you know he almost made an R-rated nerds vs jocks middle school comedy? I’m joined by @maxevry to talk about that, aliens, and his great new book Stranded on Earth in the latest episode of The Spiel.
New episode alert! @maxevry has a new book coming out called Stranded On Earth that focuses on how the unmade project Night Skies evolved into Gremlins and E.T. We talk about that and dive into the early Spielberg years where his ultimate legacy was shaped.

I don’t really give a shit about the embargo debate around Clayface, but I will say that dude is high as a kite if he thinks that movie is even remotely comparable to Morbius. I had a blast with it and can’t believe it’s as unabashedly gnarly as it is.

To me, Clayface is the kind of tonal zigzag I was hoping for whenever Gunn took over and said the DCU was going to contain multitudes of flavors. It’s wild that a sexy gory morally grey goopy villain origin story coexists with Superman and Lanterns. That’s a plus, not a minus.

It’s absolutely crazy to me that we got to talk to these two. What a fun hour with two legitimate horror icons. And yes, Russ says his famous line. Give it a listen when you have a moment, available wherever you get your podcasts.
What better way to kick off Halloween season than a chat with two living horror legends? Brez and Vespe welcome Night of the Living Dead's Judith O'Dea and Russ Streiner and talk about the legacy of that film, Romero, and their favorite @StephenKing stories.

Anecdotal, but I’ve early voted in every Texas election since the 2000 presidential election and I’ve never seen lines like I’m seeing today. And these are mid terms!

Also not scientific, but judging some books by their covers I’d guess the crowd is wildly weighted in favor of faces I’d guess lean democrat. Lots of young folks, people of color, nerdy clothes, etc.

To celebrate the release of @BrianDuffield’s Whalefall, I recorded a very entertaining episode of The Spiel where we nerd out about Minority Report! Listen to the podcast and then go see Austin Abrams navigate a surprising amount of whale sphincters at a theater near you!
Hey, do you want to hear @BrianDuffield talk about whale sphincters, casting Austin Abrams, and the genius of Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report? Spider robots, Tom Cruise chasing eyeballs, the “halo theory” and more! Tiny taste below:

Very fun episode out today. Just a bunch of Stephen King nerds talking about Stephen King shit and how he’s attracted new generations to his work over the decades.
Stephen King + The Disney Channel? Say true! King cameos on Big City Greens and we have co-creator @shanehoughton on to talk about it as well as his own King fandom, from Christine to The Dark Tower. Listen here or wherever you get your podcasts: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

I’ve seen Digger and I’ve seen the… strong… critical reaction to it and I can’t help but feel like this is going to be one of those movies that these same critics will look back on in 15 years and claim they loved it from the get go.

The film is very big and loud and, at times, obnoxious, but for a very specific reason. For me it worked best when the satire was front and center and not as great when “the message” was the important part, but on the whole I find the entire thing fascinating.

Outlander! The day has finally arrived. Malachai himself, Mr. Courtney Gains, has come on the show to talk about his Cornboy shenanigans. We discuss Children of the Corn, The 'Burbs, dangerous stunts, his music career, and more! Listen to him talk about his audition:

Just saw Alpha Gang at Fantastic Fest. First off, this gonzo movie is a perfect fit for this weirdo fest. Crazy cast playing ‘50s greaser aliens in some kind of post-fall apocalyptic landscape. Bautista, Chris Pine, Cate Blanchett. Odd, enthralling, unlike anything out there.
