Most of these X tipsters are funny 😂
Na why I dey like keep my circle small and roll with just a few people.
Make I tell you one story.
There was this guy on here who offered me a gig sometime ago. Before we even started, he made it clear that once the brand paid, he wanted to take a percentage of the money.
I was reluctant sha because, in my head, this thing suppose be a “rub my back, I rub yours” situation. Today, I help you, tomorrow, you help me. We grow together.
But baba no gree ooo. 😂
He insisted that na percentage he want, and because I needed the money at that time, I eventually agreed to his terms.
Fast-forward to now, I’ve had opportunities to refer tipsters for more than 3 different Brand/GIG worth way more than what he offered me back then.
Guess what?
I didn’t even shortlist him.
And it wasn’t because he wasn’t qualified or because I wanted to pay him back for what happened. I simply couldn’t see myself recommending someone I had already developed that kind of impression about.
That experience made me see him as someone who prioritises what he can get over building genuine relationships. And honestly, I can’t have someone like that in my circle when trust is important to me.
I would rather recommend people I trust, people who have shown me genuine support, and people I know I can build something meaningful with.
Because sometimes, opportunities don’t come down to who is the most qualified. They come down to who people trust enough to put their name on the line for.
Don’t let greed make you lose relationships that could open bigger doors for you in the future.
Sometimes, the value of a relationship is far greater than the percentage you’re trying to collect today
