Blimey. Andy Burnham takes on the triple lock
He says he'll honour the 2024 manifesto commitment to keep the triple lock unchanged over this Parliament... BUT
"From 2030 we will adjust it. From then the state pension will continue to rise every year at least by prices or 2.5%... This change will generate significant savings which we will use to build a National Care Service"
In other words - the triple lock becomes a double lock: state pension will go up by whatever is higher out of inflation OR 2.5%.... but not average earnings

Actually, the line from Plaid was that they wouldn’t be holding a referendum this term. It was fairly obvious throughout the campaign that they still wanted to discuss independence. It’s literally the raison d’etre of the party, you cannot complain.
I warned during the election Plaid would use their time in power to push Welsh independence. Rhun ap Iorwerth assured us they wouldn’t.
Plaid lied.

Trans women are not the same as women because they are a subset of men, are male, and the opposite sex of women.
They already have equal protection in law. Their validity can never be contingent on women surrendering their protections in law.
It’s really not difficult to grasp.
Trans women are not the same as other women.
They're different but equally valid.
Two types of woman: One based on chromosomal sex & the other on gender identity.
Both types of women are victims of sexism, rape & violence.

Reports indicate that 8,000 people attended the Independence rally in Aberystwyth on Saturday. Many people can be forgiven for believing that Yes Cymru is a branch of Plaid Cymru, myself included.
Just a reminder: many attendees were not members or supporters of Plaid Cymru, but independence supporters from various political backgrounds, and some with no party allegiance at all.
The speakers also talked a lot about challenging the British establishment, which I found a bit ironic, given that Plaid Cymru is part of the establishment, with seats in the House of Commons and the elitist, undemocratic House of Lords.
“ Practice what you preach" came to mind.
Up the Republic!
