Opioids used at appropriate doses for pain and breathlessness do not hasten death (Evidence based)
Inappropriately high dose Opioids are a terrible choice for relieving anxiety or distress at end of life, the calming effect is transient and agitation/hallucinations will occur

It was my mum’s 7th year Anniversary this week.
I don’t think we talk enough about how confusing it can be for health care professionals to reconcile their knowledge, experience and expectations with the reality of a loved one dying.
