Simmons was accused of passing paper laced with synthetic marijuana to a client who was charged with murder. Simmons received a plea deal and was sentenced to 3 years of deferred adjudication, a type of probation in which he must stay out of trouble. Tanisha Butler, his accomplice, was given a similar deal and adjudication last month. Because Simmons is an attorney, his no-contest plea must be reported to the State Bar, and it is unclear is he will be able to keep his license.

Police say that the grieving wife told them Elijah was in his underwear and described him as “psychotic,” and that he kept claiming to “be God.”

Officers eventually pulled the truck over and arrested 2 men from Florida, Tarvares Givens and the driver, Levon Steven Jr. Givens was charged with failure to identify, and Steven was charged with evading arrest and tampering with Evidence. Police say they recovered $6,000 in cash from the street.

ALERT: Cat rescued after being stuck upside down in the wall for a week in New York. Lola the cat went missing in a 2 story home after the tenants moved out, and the owner tried setting out treats, traps, and cameras to find her. The owner eventually found the cat stuck between two studs in the wall and called John Debacker of Long Island Cat/Kitten Solutions to help rescue it. Debacker then took apart the drywall and pulled Lola out safely from between the studs, where she was stuck upside down. After being treated for hair and insulation in her stomach, Lola has been released and is healthy.
