This makes me sad a lot too... although in a way I can see why.
I love ASMR so much and adore having the opportunity to make it, and it's still my favorite thing to make as I've grown a deep love for it, but it can feel daunting a lot of the time for me personally at least.
I feel a lot more self conscious when I make it these days then when I started, because I've started to realize what I'm capable of, how much better the quality of other vtubers is, feel bad when i deliver an ASMR stream that isn't up to the standards I know i can provide, but that does take more effort.
I think for people relying heavily on monetization, ASMR content works vastly different than other content, which people may not realize right away.
A lot of ASMR creators are hesitant to monetize their YouTube videos due to ads interrupting someone's relaxation, and I also have noticed less traditional support (in terms of financials at least) within ASMR communities. Such as subs, donos, bits, etc.
Not that this applies to every streamer, but I think it's easy to find very successful ASMR streamers that don't necessarily make as much income as a much smaller audience making other kinds of content.
There are of course ways to monetize it, but not everyone might be familiar or willing to do those and then simply realize it isn't for them.
Still, I hope more people are able to find love and passion in ASMR and the ASMR community the way that I have.
I also adore that the people who do love making ASMR REALLY love making it which is quite lovely to see
Edit: I also forgot to mention sponsorships, etc. While there are sponsorship opportunities, partnership opportunities, etc with ASMR, they're vastly different compared to other content (at least in many areas, there are still some that overlap). I think it's particular hard as a vtuber asrmtist, as this seems to lessen the opportunities even more so (or maybe i'm just uneducated and not looking in the right places) but anyways, that's my two cents x.x
> I find a NEW cool ASMRist
> whole community supports
> they grind ASMR
> hit partner
> no more ASMR
