Need to improve at DB? Minter brings in the best college DB coach. Need to improve at OL? Minter (potentially) brings in one of the most well respected OL coaches in the league. Need to improve on offense? Minter goes to the disciples of one of the most well respected modern offensive minds in Ben Johnson. At this point, if you aren’t on the Minter train then I genuinely don’t know what else you need to see. Maybe you’re just waiting for the staff to be filled, free agency, & the draft to be completed. That’s fair. But we should at least all be incredibly happy with the HC hire at the moment. So far he hasn’t had a misstep.

Call me a pessimist if you want to but a couple things this game and the ones before it tell me. • Jesse Minter can’t get the defense together. He was supposed to elavate our guys and get the defense to force turnovers. He’s done neither for the most part. Allowing 35 points in just 2 quarters while at home with almost all of your defensive starters available is inexcusably bad. • The offensive line just can’t come together and will be what drags this team down. • Without Lamar hero ball, this offense is entirely inept. • Zay Flowers gets entirely shut down in the second half of games. • Father time has caught up with Derrick Henry. He’s a shell of who he used to be and the Ravens officially have a need at RB again. • Whether it’s Quenton Nelson or one of the edge rushers who will be available for trade, EDC has to bolster the trenches if they have any intention of saving the season. • Declan Doyle won’t be going anywhere after this season. He’ll be the offensive coordinator for us next year for sure. He’s not getting a head coaching job after this last 3 game stretch.

After the news about Tavius, Khalil Mack would be a great addition. But cap space remains the problem. Quenton Nelson, Vita Vea, DeForest Buckner, Khalil Mack, or maybe even Derwin James (depending on how serious Hawkins’ injury is) would be good additions. I would be cautious of adding Derwin James though; that’s A LOT of money in the safety room.
