π¨ Flavoured tobacco is a trap.
ππ¬πΏ Sweet, fruity, minty and other flavours can make tobacco products more appealing and mask the harshness of tobacco smoke β helping attract and sustain tobacco use.
π Under the WHO FCTC Articles 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines, Parties are encouraged to prohibit or restrict ingredients that increase the palatability and attractiveness of tobacco products, including flavourings, sugars, sweeteners, herbs and spices.
π And countries are taking action: over 40 countries now ban flavoured tobacco products.
π Flavours donβt make tobacco safer β they can make it more attractive.
π Regulate flavours. Reduce attractiveness. Protect public health.
