While most people are focusing on the game mechanics & marketing shortcomings of 2XKO, the bigger picture is that, behind the scenes at Riot, there has been a lot of flops left and right, like the losses they incurred with Arcane. 2XKO has the potential for a comeback, but only in the long-term, and a company that tries to cut its losses sees anything that requires 10 more years of upkeep to be a liability. The experiment of League entering all different genres is ending.
