He tried to warn us: Archbishop Fulton Sheen saw soft-on-crime coming to America 65 years ago. He called it “false compassion” — others call it “misdirected compassion” or “toxic empathy”.
Such misdirected empathy is a defining characteristic of the Left today on: abortion, welfare, crime, gay marriage, etc., and sadly it is very prominent in our state of Washington. They empathize with the perpetrator, and not the victim.
Congratulations to our Catholic allies who celebrate Sheen's Blessedness this week — some 50,000 joined in person for the ceremony in St. Louis; President Trump honored him in a beautiful White House statement; and millions around the world joined in celebratory spirit.
