“He’s a scholar. He’s an academic. He’s not a spy”: Sylvia Zin has not seen or heard from her husband, Min Zin, an American citizen, in more than 100 days, after he was detained in China while visiting in June for an academic conference.
Min Zin’s work focused on his home country of Myanmar, where China supports a military dictatorship. A government spokesman said the academic was suspected of espionage.
