Many people don't know it but Lyndsey Clancy is not the first time in American history a tragedy like this has occurred. In fact, very early in the middle of the Revolutionary War a similar tragedy occurred. And a man you've never heard of, John Marsh, preached one of the most powerful answers to evil I've ever heard. In 1782 John Marsh, pastor of a normal town, got the worst news someone could hear. A man, whose disgraceful name doesn't deserve remembering, killed his wife and four children. He then committed suicide. Why? What? How? And John Marsh not only had to comfort those grieving, but was asked to preach the funeral sermon. The nation was struck by this terrible tragedy. Just as it does today, it gripped everyone who heard it and made people question, "How could God let this happen?" Marsh was given access to the man's notes and found out a horrifying truth. The reason he killed them. The man had become an atheist. He didn't believe in God or anything anymore. And not only did he believe it, he wanted to prove the world he didn't believe in right and wrong anymore. By committing one of the worst tragedies one could do. Killing their own family and then committing suicide. Nothing else could prove his lack of belief in God then doing something this great and evil. The whole community was looking to Marsh as he was to preach a sermon over the funerals of the wife and the four children. The man who did the actions was not considered worthy of a funeral. And Marsh answered the question everyone wanted: How could God let this happen? "Because if He didn't you'd never believe we could do something like this." A shocking answer that when I first read it it shook me. Because he was right! If people like this man from 200 years ago or Lyndsey Clancy didn't do such evil things could we really believe that humanity was capable of it? If Kim Jung Un's, Stalins, and Mao's didn't exist could we really believe man was evil? Marsh added that sometimes God removed His perfect hand and protection just for a moment and let humans do the things that humans deep down desire to do. And when they do it, it reminds us how amazing God is. Jesus knew what humans were capable. Really, really capable of. How wicked and evil we are. As Paul quoted, "Our feet are swift to murder," and our mouths speak poison. Yet Jesus, fully knowing who we were, fully knowing what we would do to Him, still loved us enough to die for us. When tragedies like these happen don't get angry at God and cry out, "You could have stopped this!" Remind yourself that God stops these incidents constantly. But once in a while He reminds us what we would be without Him.

Rented a U-Haul truck yesterday, and my teen (15) climbed in the passenger seat. Shut the door, and she exclaimed, "What is this lever thing?" It took me a moment to realize what she was on about. She was stunned when I told her what it was. She did remark, "Oh, that's why we say 'roll' up the window."

Listening again to Dennis Miller's "America 180" He's talking about people and social media: "Never before have lives less lived been more chronicled".

Earlier, my 15-year-old was reading a book, and asked my wife and me, "What is a theatrical question?" I knew she meant 'rhetorical', but my wife immediately replied, "To be or not to be?" I was very proud of her!

Okay, that is brilliant. It would make even my cold, miserly, Scrooge-like heart leave the change.

When I saw the trailer for Disclosure Day, I was intrigued. I had yet heard about the director stating it would cause all of us Christians to question our faith though. Honestly, I know the Cross happened. Can't explain it. Can't deny it. Can't even likely argue convincingly about it. But I know it happened. I also know that while He died, He rose from the dead. The same One who testifies to that fact, is the same One who tells me that this is true. There are a lot of things about the Bible, history, and even our basic understanding of the world around us that make me question a lot of things and how all that fits together. However, I always go back to "The Cross happened. The Resurrection happened. So..." My faith is founded on Him. Not even on my understanding of Him or the rules or doctrines - though I try to understand and read all I can. Basically, He knows my name - and that is enough for me. The Universe, aliens, and all of that - I'm game to take it all as it is, but this I know - He lives. The rest is secondary to that.

Fifty-nine years ago today, an American Naval vessel, the USS Liberty, was attacked by air and sea by the State of Israel. Of the 234 men on the ship, 34 Americans were killed. 171 were wounded. Today, Thomas Massie will take to the House floor to memorialize the worst interpretation of the event, an interpretation that suggests Israel attacked the American ship on purpose and that our own government either coordinated with them to do, or is complicit in the cover up. The USS Liberty has become a rallying cry for many of the worst voices in public life. From the Groyper Wars against Charlie Kirk, to Tucker Carlson’s blackpill-and-despair political project, to Candace Owens’ global jihad of grift and Jew hared, the Conspiracy Theories surrounding the USS Liberty have become one of the most respectable ways to advance anti-Israel and anti-American sentiment. But what really happened on that terrible day in 1967? How can we know what’s true? And what does it mean for us six decades later? Conspiracy Theorists love to overwhelm you with the sheer volume of their claims, but there are 8 claims which makeup the core of the argument. We thoroughly address those eight in this episode, and shine a light on the phenomena that undergird these Conspiracy Theories in the first place. Here's an honest accounting of what happened on June 8, 1967, and how — and why — bad actors are lying to you about it:

My daughter would react the same way. She loves me - but she'd want to die - after she killed me. Good job, Dad!
She's very lucky to have such a fun dad.
