there are no cases against US troops right now. There should not be any in fact if the US judiciary system is prepared to investigate any allegations of violations of international or US law by US military personnel or the chain of command. The principle of complementarity is central to the ICC implementation of its mandate.
On the other hand, the current US threats, attacks, sanctions, against the ICC and its personnel (for doing their job) constitute a major impediment to the delivery of justice for millions around the world who are dependent on the ICC.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for @MinPres Prime Minister Jetten. To our Dutch allies I say, we are happy to keep our hands off the #ICC... if it keeps its hands off the United States. Our objections to the Court are bipartisan. Presidents of both parties have declined to submit the Rome Statute for ratification. Our troops, tens of thousands of which are guarding Europe as part of an 80+ year security commitment, and the rest of our citizens, should not be subject to a politicized Court. Full stop.
