You can show who you are online without putting all of your private life on here. You can share your unique thoughts, experiences, methods, and career expertise then you add a sprinkle of you private stuff here and there.
With these, you can show personality without letting everyone know the color of your underwear.

Very important… keep track of what the system was like before you started, during and inbetween.
These are the real portfolios
When you write or do a gig for a client, keep track of it.
Save the link, go back after a while to check the metrics, if you have access to that. If you don't, you can ask the client.
You need these metrics to measure the extent of your skill, this helps you improve and gives you "bragging rights" when you meet new clients.

Soft skills are non-negotiable and I keep
saying this.
Your technical skills aren't enough, you can qualify for a job but if you don't know how to communicate clearly, that automatically disqualifies you.
I hope everyone takes this seriously because it's really needed!

Knowing 20 different tools won’t keep you in a job if you can’t communicate well, manage expectations, take feedback, meet deadlines, work independently and collaborate with your team.
Technical skills can get you the opportunity.
Soft skills can help you keep it!

This is so true, I did this when I started charging for community management.
The first few ones I did were free and give me anything you want.
But when I got better at it and started to charge as a standalone service, I needed to make that clear.
Always let them know.
When someone asks for a favour that involves you using your skill for free, be clear about the time you can give to it.
If you're really close to them, tell them you'll be able to do it but you'll need more time.
If you're not so close or you honestly don't want to do it because it'll take too much from you, apologise and decline.
On both occasions, always let them know how much it'll usually cost if it's a paid service... It gives them perspective of the value.

Simple open ended questions that people can respond to without thinking about their lives.
If you want people to engage with your LinkedIn posts do this
1. Give them something to respond to.
2. Ask a specific question.
3. Share a debatable opinion.
4. Tell a relatable story.
This makes starting conversation easy.

Access is also about how you carry yourself around people.
Can you disagree respectfully?
Can you receive clarification?
Can you admit when you misunderstood something?
Can people correct you without fighting your ego?
Skill opens some doors.
Character decides what happens after the door opens.

Be good at all times, someone is definitely watching.
Your career can change because one person speaks well about you in a room you were never invited into.
That's why reputation matters.
Do good work.
Be dependable.
Respect people.
Communicate well.
Carry yourself properly.
You never know which version of you someone is describing when your name comes up.
