The federal government currently owes Social Security roughly $2.6 TRILLION. For decades, Social Security surpluses were invested in Treasury securities, allowing Treasury to use that cash for other federal financing while promising repayment with interest. Social Security didn’t create the national debt. It has been one of the federal government’s creditors.
They are stealing our money and then blaming the American people.
