It's easy to look at the final score of yesterday game and be like the
@MiamiDolphins lost to the 49ers 35-13 so lets just blow it up.
But pump the brakes. Everyone predicted before the season the
@MiamiDolphins would be bad, that the would struggled, that they wouldn't win many games. Some fans even wanted the team to go winless.
So why the frustration? Why the confusion?
I see a lot of it's not that they are losing. It's how they are playing and losing Its that they don't look very good.
here the thing about that:
Week one:
They played the Las Vegas Raiders. They lost 27-13. The Dolphins played bad the 1st half and decent in the second half. It was the 1st NFL games for about 25% of the team. The team was going to struggle we all knew it. That happened. You know who played the Raiders in week 2? The Chargers. The Raiders beat them 26-14. Herbert ended up throwing 2 INTs in that game. So the Dolphins basically played the Raiders just as well as the Chargers did. The Chargers were considered a potential playoff team when the season started and Herbert was suppose to be able to finally show who he was as QB. Herbert is now 0-2 on the season.
Week 2:
They played and lost to the San Francisco 49ers 35-13. The game was the tale of two halves. The 1st half they were competitive. You don't have to believe me and if you don't it's fine. But the offense had the ball for 3 drives. The offense moved the ball all three drives. yes the drives all stalled out. But they all ended with the FG team on the field. 2/3 FG were made. The second halve was not as good. The offense struggled at times. The defense gave up 21 points. Willis threw his first TD to Ryan Miller. yes it was when the game was out of reach. It's easy to say Miller was being covered by a CB who isn't a starter. But the reality is the CB on the field cover him was the Nickel Corner so he sees a lot of playing time. He wasn't just some random depth chart player finally seeing some playing time. But if you go back to week 1 and look at how the 49ers played the Rams. The
@MiamiDolphins didn't do much worst than the Rams. Based on expectations you could actually make a case for the Dolphins playing better against the 49ers than the Rams did.
The
@MiamiDolphins haven't been great this year and they probably won't be great at any point this year. But they haven't been as bad as people want to make it out to be. The ending score stink. But they played the raiders just as good as the Chargers did and they played the 49ers just as good as the Rams did.
It's Time to just let the
@MiamiDolphins season upfold and give the players the season to show what they can do.
Do I believe some players should be gone. Absolutely. Austin Jackson for one can't be gone fast enough.
