Lots of people piling on this, but I found it quite interesting/relevant to my process (and it turns out several music making friends). I think there’s a question underneath this that could apply to lots of different art forms/crafts. Eg.Who makes the most melodic digital art?
are you not making music with melodies because you can't, or are you just fearful of being viewed as cringe?
further, are you using "texture" as a way of putting distance between you and your listeners, or is it serving your work?
