As we're getting closer to the end of Dawntrail, I've made a collage of screenshots taken with good friends during this expansion. #FFXIV That'll be a good memory from Dawntrail, and I very much appreciate everyone in it~! 👉👈

I've played Bulk Slash between two RPGs on Saturn since multiple people recommended it. That game is gas. It's a lot of fun, the missions are short with various objectives and the bosses really cool!

Madou Monogatari ✅️ Another pretty good Saturn RPG. Main strengths are the cute pixel-art, fun dungeon-crawling and dialogue/characters. Battle system is pretty good but quite slow due to the (albeit great) animations, making some of the boss fights super long.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force was released 4 years ago! It was a good return to form for the series and one of my favorite JRPGs in the last few years. With the series' 30th Anniversary and some "teasing" from tri-Ace, I wouldn't be surprised if Star Ocean 7 is announced soon.

I always say this but shit like Metacritic and The Game Awards truly did severe damage to the quality of gaming conversations. Y'all getting unreasonably upset for one review of a game you didn't even touch yet, because it lowers an useless metascore, is so fucking cringe.

Ar Tonelico II was released 19 years ago on PS2! Still one of the best games ever developed by Gust! It improved on the first entry in many aspects, and delivered yet again a legendary soundtrack.

Lunar: Silver Star Story was released 30 years ago on Sega Saturn! This remake of the Mega-CD game is the basis for the versions that most people probably know, as it was later ported to PS1, and more recently remastered for modern platforms.

For those discovering Star Ocean 2 with the remake, I'd recommend to switch to the PS1 OST for a first playthrough. Some arrangements in the remake's OST are great, some more questionable, but the original fits the game perfectly while representing Sakuraba's style in the 90s

Denshattack! ✅️ Very good and original indie game. Nice artstyle, great soundtrack, fun to play. The game keeps adding mechanics (to the point it might be overwhelming?) I've had some minor nitpicks but overall, it's one of the most interesting games released this year.

Happy 30th Anniversary to Tomb Raider! The very first game was released 30 years ago on Sega Saturn. The series quickly became iconic and has surpassed 100M copies sold!

Xbox is still planning on closing down Arkane Studios. Meanwhile, on this app, blind Xbox fanboys are cheering for this awful company to "save" Mass Effect and/or BioWare. Lessons will never be learned. 😬
Chez Xbox, le sursis d’Arkane n’aurait tenu qu’aux restrictions légales françaises : le groupe escompte fermer le studio lyonnais derrière Dishonored, et les syndicats alertent. l.gamekult.com/W7z

Yes, the Shining Force III trilogy did save files transfer much before Mass Effect and its scope wasn't less ambitious for its time. Your affinities with other characters would get carried over the whole trilogy, and choices you made impacted the fate of some characters.

The reactions from developers all around the world really show deeply influential BioWare once was. Whether you've played their games or not, there's a good chance some of your favorite RPGs (even japanese) took inspiration from mechanics that BioWare has pioneered.

BioWare helped established a template for modern RPGs: sprawling narratives shaped by player decision conversations, moral choices and romance. Its approach to romance became a defining influence on the genre. washingtonpost.com/entertain…

Final Fight Revenge has a bad reputation, and was a departure from the previous entries being an one-on-one fighting game... but I'm grateful for it. The game sucked so much that it motivated Shinji Mikami to make his own beat 'em up, and this idea eventually became God Hand!
A rare miss from Capcom. This game sucks. 👎 However, Capcom Digital Studios did go on to find success with the Maximo games on PS2. Final Fight Revenge: D- Gamers' Republic | June 2000

RIP BioWare. Arguably the best RPG developer in the 2000s. Unfortunately EA slowly killed them and it just wasn't the same genius studio we once knew anymore.
