I still remember the day I attended the inauguration of the Fiker Library. It was actually the result of pure coincidence: I came across a post shared by one of my friends on social media. Yet, from that very first visit, I had a deep feeling that this place would somehow shape my life.
And yes, it truly has.
I am very grateful for the political maturity and intellectual growth that Fiker has contributed to my journey over the years. From the beginning, it felt like a modern majlis for high-level thought and meaningful dialogue, through its sessions, lectures, seminars, symposiums, and many enriching conversations.
& So, I had the pleasure of being invited to Fiker’s anniversary celebration, marking its five-year milestone. Today, I genuinely feel part of its dynamic and engaging community, and I am very grateful to have witnessed its growth and success.
Congratulations, @FikerInstitute on this wonderful achievement — and here’s to many more years of ideas and impact to com.

Dr Lina Khatib is an expert on geopolitics and security and has been Middle East director at Chatham House, Carnegie, Stanford University, and SOAS. She is a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Middle East Initiative, & an associate fellow at Chatham House.
