Instead of building something, we started by looking for a problem.
We did 20 interviews with people from the hardware industry about what a typical day at work looks like, how they communicate with teammates, and what they hate most about their work.
We got answers, and based on them we got hints about where the problems might be. Now it's time to niche down. Hardware is too broad a topic to start with. Selling to everyone is like selling to no one.
In the following week, we will do even more interviews to dig deeper into the topic.
Most important lesson: ask the people you interview if they know someone from your target group and if they can give you a warm intro. It works better than I thought. People are willing to help you.
