A brief history of the artists who brought Vault Boy to life.
Leonard Boyarsky drew the first Vault Boy; he was skinny and goofy-looking, and that was how he looked as development progressed for the first Fallout game. Tramell Ray Isaac later refined Vault Boy into the character we know today. He drew all the perk icons, and then some, for the first game. Even drawing the first black Vault Boy & the first Vault Girl. So he drew Vault Boy the way we know him now.
For Fallout 2, Brian Menze joined the team. TRay and Brian would go on to split the drawings we see in that game, with both artists sharing the workload for the perks and such. One of Brian's most famous works is the original Child Killer Perk from Fallout 2 that features Vault Boy kicking a pregnant Vault Girl.
Such a simple character, but these guys made him iconic.
