The launch of @getmargins finally gives brands not yet on Finaloop a taste of what is possible with good, clean, reliable data across their sales channels, processors, ads, COGS, EDI, banks, and more. Margins: live, reconciled data for your dashboards, workflows and Claude.
Today we launch Margins, a financial infra and analytics suite that feeds your and your agents’ day to day. Margins is the first fully-reconciled data layer built for consumer brands. It connects to all your data sources, including Shopify, Amazon, Payments processors, Meta, 3PL, EDI, billing, and bank transactions. Connect Claude and chat with your data, build your own dashboards and workflows, or use our sleek, designed ones built off our experience working with thousands of brands. 🎉 To celebrate the launch, we’re giving away free forever, unlimited access to the FULL Margins product for the first 200 brands to sign up, no matter your size from starter to 9 figures. No trial. No sales call. No stripped-down version. RT+ comment “MARGINS” and I’ll send you your personal link. The story 👇👇

QSBS election may be the one of the most important tax decisions you need to make early on 👇
1/ Two founders sell for $15M on the same day. One wires roughly $3.5M to the IRS. The other wires nothing. The difference is a decision they each made years earlier, usually without knowing it was a decision.

The most important TikTok Shop halo effect doesn’t show up in your margins. It shows up in how far you can scale before CAC breaks. At last week’s TikTok Shop Operators Summit, @jordantwestecom shared our data showing that brands doing more than $1M in TikTok Shop GMV averaged over 3x the revenue, contribution profit, and EBITDA of the other 7–8 figure brands in our portfolio. That doesn’t prove TikTok Shop caused the growth, but it’s pretty convincing. @_RafiGanz went one layer deeper into the data. Turns out the TikTok Shop brands didn’t have better margins. Their margins were roughly the same, and actually a little lower. So where did the halo go? They spent it. When the TikTok Shop brands increased their budgets by 10%, CAC increased by only 1.9%. For everyone else, it increased by 4.2%. Massive difference 🤯. Great operators don’t leave an arbitrage sitting in their margin. They scale into it until the efficiency advantage gets absorbed by volume. By the time you look at the P&L, the margins may look similar. But one business has become much bigger. The differentiator is the TikTok Shop flywheel. Its affiliate network becomes a creative engine, constantly producing new content so acquisition can keep scaling without creative becoming the constraint. Bottom line: TikTok Shop can be a great funnel for brands looking to scale. Not because it gives you better margins, but because it gives you the infrastructure to keep going. 🎧 Full recording in the replies. And thank you to Social Commerce Club for putting on an awesome event.

@jackybh 💪 That's actually what AI has opened up for our customers. We always had the best reconciled business and marketing dataset for consumer businesses. Not by choice. We do accounting and taxes and produce audited financials, so we have no option but to account for every penny. That one order in Shopify that also went out as a Stripe invoice and got paid offline still has to land once, with revenue and cash each counted where they belong. With full ledger and audit trail. What you could do with all of it was capped by whatever we built into the UI, and keeping up with customers feature requests was never easy. Connect it to AI tools and the cap is gone. Customers build practically anything now, with no garbage in, garbage out. Reporting, and actual apps. We've seen custom daily reporting into Slack. Teams talking to their data through Claude or Slack. CFO-grade dashboards. Stockout and overstocking alerts. 13-week cash flow models. One customer built a light order management system. Every result is deterministic, not statistical, because the data is the source of truth. The AI just harnesses it and shapes it per our customers' needs. We're turning these into skills and distributing them across customers. Every finance team can build anything now, without touching data cleaning, reconciliation across many overlapping sources, data engineering, integrity tests, scale, or maintenance. We do all of it for you.

I’m building a few scheduled tasks on gpt that check a few things and send reports weekly. Game changer to have “someone” monitoring and forecasting inventory needs, cash flow projections, financial analysis (i.e. run vertical analysis on fee past months, chart them, etc)

I think within a year, 90% of Finaloop's users will be agents, not humans. Here's why. Four weeks of data on how brands use our Finaloop MCP. Two things stood out: 1. Most usage isn't chat. Two-thirds of requests come from Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Only 30% from a chat window. Brands are building their own tools on top of their books: → An LTV cohort prediction which updates for actuals every week → A Slack notification for repeating influencer purchase → A Slack alert when inventory level per SKU drops below a threshhold A fifth of users run workflows like these. They generate half of all usage. We didn't build this. Customers did. 2. It doesn't stop on weekends. 26% of requests happen Saturday and Sunday. Agents running overnight, and founders checking numbers before Monday. Nobody opens an accounting system on a Sunday for fun. Accounting and finance became a builder's sport. The 2026 DTC founder: ships code on Saturday, checks numbers on Sunday, and doesn't take the agency's ncROAS claim at face value without checking it against their own data. Haven't felt energy like this in ecom since 2020.

Extremely interesting!! Our data shows that higher R&D intensity does not go with better contribution margin for supp brands Left table R&D % of net sales (compliance is the main category, not science) Right table Correlation between R&D investment and contribution margin

Thanks Jordan for this! I am quite certain that Finaloop is the best use case out there for AI deep data analysis in finance thanks to our reconciled, tagged data set across thousands of consumer brands, in every possible dimension
THE DATA SHOWS THE BRANDS ON TIKTOK SHOP ARE GROWING THE FASTEST OMNICHANNEL! 👇👇 I keep talking about the halo effect of TikTok Shop. It's a demand generation and creative powerhouse, and the return shows up everywhere. Meta gets cheaper and converts better. (This is still underrated) Branded search climbs. Amazon sales jump. Wholesale buyers get interested. ( and lots of times you get better terms!!) Now look at this crazy stat. I was catching up with the @FinaloopTeam and we asked their MCP (that has aggregated thousands of merchants data anonomously) a simple question: compare the YoY performance of TikTok Shop scaled brands (1m+ TTS sales over the year) against the other brands in the 7-8 figure portfolio. Here's what came back for the median H1 yoy growth, TTS cohort vs others: Revenue: +61.5% vs +19.6% → 3.1x 🤯 Contribution profit: +90.0% vs +23.3% → 3.9x EBITDA: +116.6% vs +34.7% → 3.4x 🤯 That's the halo showing up in proper reconciled accounting data. The brands scaling on TikTok Shop grew their whole business over 3x faster and best of all, it trickles all the way down the P&L. 💰 Thoughts?

The 10% or 1% OpEx era? OpEx has been mainly flat at 20% all year. @TaylorHoliday's article is a masterpiece. I'm aligned with the vision. I just think the timeline is early. Where 500 reconciled books of 7-9 fig consumer brands say "not yet": 1. OpEx is ~20% of net sales, exactly where the Golden Age was. 2. The brands that DID fix their ratio didn't do it by compressing the org. 3. AI spend is up 8.1×. The typical brand now pays $177/month. Mainly seats, not tokens. 4. The top OpEx improvers don't outspend on AI. They spent 15% less than everyone else ($2,713 vs $3,210 for the year). The books will say when it arrives. They haven't yet...
it's crazy how the narrative has moved from 10% opex was extreme to now 1% opex being the new frontier since March...

SaaS subscriptions can kill your brand before it even has legs... Over the past 2.5 years I've paid for an ungodly amount of SaaS tools. If I had to start from zero, here are the ONLY SaaS subscriptions I would pay for in no particular order: 1. @FinaloopTeam - non-negotiable. If your financials aren't automated and accurate, you cannot make real decisions. 3 accountants. All failed. Finaloop fixed it in one click. If you think you're saving money with QuickBooks and a VA, you're not — you're just deferring pain. Trust me on this one. 2. @triplewhale - becoming less important with AI, but I still think it's necessary. I've looked at my TW dashboard every single day for the last 2.5 years. 3. Kintsugi - not necessary in the beginning, but once you're at decent scale you absolutely need to automate your sales tax. Not worth the manual headache. 4. G Suite - if you seriously think you can "save money" by using personal Gmails or some other janky hack, you're just not that serious. I'm sorry. 5. @SlackHQ - another non-negotiable. Every single partner/agency/contractor you interact with will be on Slack. Teams run on Slack, it's that simple. 6. @clickup - probably not necessary until you have more complicated workflows and a few team members, but it's seriously a game changer. When we switched to ClickUp, speed and efficiency went way up. Huge fan. 7. @figma - design runs on Figma in this industry, it's that simple. Just get the subscription, it's not that expensive. 8. Replo - also not necessary until you're at decent scale but I highly recommend it. You can ship new pages so much faster and cheaper, and your PDPs won't look like every other generic dropshipper out there. Seriously a game changer and I'm a huge fan of Yuxin Zhu and the whole Replo team. 9. @frame.io - also not necessary in the beginning but once you're shipping a significant volume of ads per week it becomes a game changer. I personally hate storing content in Google Drive, it becomes an absolute mess and just slows everything down. Frame is a game changer, it's the cleanest media asset storage tool I've ever used. 10. @klaviyo - getting ridiculously expensive, but unfortunately a non negotiable. No other esp can do what klaviyo can. 11. Shopify - is this even a SaaS tool? This shouldn't even be a question, but for some reason I still see randoms claiming you can save money by using Wix or some other website builder. The entire DTC/ecom ecosystem runs through Shopify... Shopify literally owns ecom. Use your brain. Also not a SaaS tool but if you're not using Claude/Claude Cowork/Claude Code - you're falling behind. I'm not affiliated with any of these companies, but if you want a discount code for Replo and Finaloop, DM me. I got you.

BRIDGES… but unfiltered. For our final episode of TaylorReacts!, I pulled the books from 4 eCom companies. From a $100M+ monster printing 30% margins… to a 7-figure store bleeding red. Then, I brought in some of the sharpest finance minds I know: @MehtabKarta, @drewfallon12, & Jacob Becker. Is DTC a business, or a channel? How much of your P&L should be product development? Does product solve for marketing, or marketing solve for product? This, and much more. Enjoy: The truth behind 2025’s best (& worst) eCom P&L's - Finance Experts REACT Special thank you to @fermatcommerce & @FinaloopTeam for partnering with us.
