there is no instance where being an ally is transactional. if it is, then you’re not actually an ally. you’re just an opportunist with no morals.
the fact that we have to spell this out is concerning.
If it's not transactional then quality shouldn't be measured, yet it was anyway. So therefore, it was transactional in this instance. I hope this helps.

I considered myself an ally to LGBTQ+ community until Nora classified me as not good enough to be one. This turned me off from trying to be supportive in any way and led me to just not getting myself involved in those communities. She undid the same work she was advocating for.
