go watch @tachim’s ted talk. 13 minutes. best case i've heard for math being underneath everything, crypto included. he opens on a 4,000 year old babylonian clay tablet and works his way up to einstein. ai is the latest chapter. a neural network is matrix multiplication and calculus at a scale that's hard to picture. crypto is math with money on top. every block is locked to the one before it by a hash. your public key is a point on an elliptic curve. the only thing keeping your coins yours is that nobody can run that math backwards. then the real problem: checking. perelman solved poincaré in 2002, a problem open for almost a century. one man wrote it, and it took top mathematicians worldwide years to confirm. that's the good outcome, when the proof holds. now ai is about to write proofs by the thousand, and only a couple thousand people alive can check them. in his words, "humans are becoming the bottleneck of verification for ai." his fix is lean. every step gets checked down to the axioms, and if anything is off anywhere, it shows you exactly where. mathlib is the encyclopedia of math already proved in it. the harmonic writes in one and pulls from the other. here's where my head went. the contracts where people actually lose money still get checked by hand. i think @HarmonicHQ could become the chain that closes that gap. ai writes a lean proof for every contract, the kernel checks it, nothing touches money until it passes. prove a contract once and every transaction through it is covered. the ledger itself, verified. hard to build, and i haven't seen a chain try it. if it lands, it changes what a blockchain even is. this could be why @vladtenev said ai will prove the code is correct. math is the mechanism
