Your vote is supposed to have power. Your vote is supposed to have value. That value is *supposed* to be… priceless. The government has recently placed a monetary value of $5,000 on that vote. Is that how much YOU think it’s worth? Is that how much it takes to make you feel better about knowingly voting for “the lesser of two evils” ? And when you’re knowingly voting for evil… evil inside of a blatantly corrupted and broken system… what kind of “good” are you truly expecting as the outcome? Also… how long do you keep participating like this?

Probably should’ve done that whole “drain the swamp” thing that was promised over and over and over again. Maybe then people wouldn’t be so pissed and jaded right now about voting. 🤷‍♂️

There's a whole thing going on right now that if you aren't voting republican or aren't voting at all you are "voting for commies!" --- actually, I'd argue the real "vote for commies" was this administration sitting on their butts for two years not doing enough to remove the threat. Instead you got renamed maps, White House video games, Trump TV and the president literally shaking hands with guys like Mamdani wishing him luck. So please spare me the concern. Next time maybe don't wait until two months before midterms to feign outrage and do something about it starting day one like you were supposed to. 🤷‍♂️

From the archives. Feb 2025. I was told to “have patience” 😵‍💫 how did that work out for everyone?

Conversation with my son this morning before school, driving past a gas station… “What? Why is gas so much Dad?” “Because we can’t let Iran have a nuke, son.” “What does that mean?” “I don’t know.”

I’m done being a “lesser of two evils” voter. Evil is evil, and I want no part of it anymore.

I just feel like "The Golden Age of America" would include eating whatever you want at an affordable price without having to hear about alternatives from paid government influencers.

Duncan Sheik was one of my earliest songwriting heroes when I was starting out and I’m so sad to hear of his sudden passing this weekend. It’s hard to put into words how much his music has meant to me and my life and how many memories are wrapped up inside of it. From high school to the last song of my wedding day, let alone his steady influence on pretty much everything I’ve ever produced for Five Times August. His work is part of my songwriting DNA.
