USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode on Flipper One is coming to mainline Linux! A working live demo of DisplayPort over USB-C running on an (almost) upstream Linux kernel was presented at Embedded Linux Conference Europe 2026 in Prague, Czechia. Together with @Collabora, we're working to bring proper USB-C display output to Flipper One and other Rockchip RK3576 and RK3588 devices. Read full article: collabora.com/news-and-blog/…

Flipper One comes with a Power Meter that shows the charging status, power coming from the charger, and power being drawn from the battery. We’ve made a Power Meter emulator that you can try out right in your browser and test different scenarios. We’d love to hear what you think in the comments below. Meet the new Flipper One boot menu - a Falcon-based menu with a clean and intuitive UI, that lets you manage OS profiles and select one to boot. The boot menu also preloads the Linux kernel to speed up OS booting, or even skips kernel reloading when switching between OS profiles with the same kernel, enabling switching in as little as 6.7 sec. 📡 LoRa (MeshCore) module for Flipper One — an off-grid radio messenger The video shows Flipper One sending a public message that's relayed by repeater nodes, reaching users over a long distance. The MeshCore network is built on LoRa technology (868 MHz in the UK) and uses repeaters maintained by radio enthusiasts to extend its coverage. In our London tests, messages traveled more than 150 km and reached hundreds of clients. The network operates independently of the internet, requires no radio transmission licence, and is free to use. A good option for keeping text messaging available when the internet goes down. Our LoRa module prototype is based on the Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver and u-blox NEO-6M GNSS receiver. The module can optionally broadcast your location, which is useful for coordinating outdoor activities. It's hardware-compatible with both MeshCore and Meshtastic mesh networks.

Dev Log #8: Side loop enlarged to fit Ethernet/HDMI/USB-A We’ve enlarged the Flipper One side loop so you can push cable connectors like Ethernet, HDMI, and USB-A through it. And when you place Flipper One vertically, like a walkie-talkie, it makes a more stable base. Check out the other mechanical design improvements in Dev Log #8: ∙ Improved UX: textured touchpad, larger side loop, convenient PH screws, and visible LAN port LEDs. ∙ Module development: cable channels for external antennas on the rail and improved module cover mounting. ∙ Internal design: built-in Wi-Fi and BLE cable channels Read the latest log: docs.flipper.net/one/dev-log…

Looking for the best label design for the USB port on Flipper One USB-C1 is the main USB port on Flipper One. It can do all of the following: • Power IN/OUT — it can charge Flipper One and power other devices. • Video OUT — it supports DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C so you can connect it to an external monitor. • USB Host + Device — it can emulate USB devices such as Ethernet adapters, mass-storage devices, or serial ports, while also acting as a USB host for connected peripherals. The challenge is to communicate all of this with a single label on the device itself, so users do not have to read the manual. We are trying to make the labeling as clear and compact as possible. This video walks through the constraints we faced, the options we considered, and the trade-offs behind each one. Watch it and let us know what you think. Which label makes the most sense to you? Do you have a better idea? Share it in this GitHub issue: github.com/flipperdevices/fl…

🛰️Satellite modem demo on Flipper One — an emergency pager Experimenting with satellite connectivity on Flipper One. The video shows an emergency SOS pager that sends your geolocation so you can be evacuated from a zombie apocalypse when there is no mobile coverage. NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) is a 3GPP standard in the LTE/5G family. It uses a regular SIM card and is supported by many modern smartphones and smartwatches. NTN is extremely slow and is billed per byte (!), but this is okay when you need to send tiny amounts of data: telemetry or short messages like “I’m alive, heart rate 80 bpm.” In this demo, we use a Blues @buildwithblues NOTE-NGBLWX module that connects to a geostationary satellite on the Skylo @SkyloTech network and transmits data to a Blues NoteHub server. We’re planning to develop a Flipper One IoT module that can serve as a backup communication channel for outdoor use or as an emergency gateway for alarm and monitoring IoT systems.
