#OTD in 1974, President & Mrs. Ford welcomed President Giovanni Leone & Mrs. Leone of Italy. The leaders met in the Oval Office, both had backgrounds as lawyers and Leone had been a member of Italy’s Constitutional Assembly just as Ford had served in the House of Representatives.

How did two former foes become allies? Discover the depth of the Anglo-American "Special Relationship" in the exhibit, "Waltzing with the Queen."
The exhibit explores pivotal moments from WWII to the Cold War, and culminates in Queen Elizabeth II’s Bicentennial visit.
