Good afternoon, @TheSlyStallone. The odds of you seeing this are slim, but I had to share it anyway. You’ve had a profound impact on my life. Rocky is tied to the memories I shared with my father, from the time I was a kid into adulthood. The first movie I ever saw in a theater with him was Rocky IV. The last movie we watched together, not knowing it would be the last, was Rocky Balboa. We saw it in the theater many times when it came out. But on this day he was home battling cancer, and I asked him what he wanted to watch. It could be anything. He chose Rocky Balboa because of the speech you give your son. He said that was what he had always wanted to say to me, but could never find the words. My father lost his fight with cancer on February 25, 2013. Anytime I miss him, I put on Rocky, and it’s like we’re sitting there together again. When I started my sleeve, I knew I had to mark what your films have meant to so many people, and especially to me. All these years later, I’m a father to a son. We’ve watched every Rocky movie together, and all the Creed movies. He loves them the same way I did as a kid, and still do. Thank you for the stories you’ve created. They’ve left a lasting mark on a lot of us. May God bless you and your loved ones. Keep punching.
